Blokes Up North has been a feature of the retail experience in Port Douglas for over twenty years, since the days when the sleepy fishing village known simply as ‘Port’ closed for the day at lunchtime and locals wore nothing more than sarongs and a suntan.
We have been mailing clothing around the world for many years, and have built up a tremendous relationship with our customers. Most of our orders are repeats to people we have been privileged to serve for many years. Don't be disappointed if you don't see the shop on Macrossan Street; we have moved to Oak Beach (ten minutes south of Port Douglas on the way to Cairns) and you are welcome to visit and view our range. Just ring for an appointment, or we can bring the clothes to your apartment or hotel for your personal perusal.

MANDARIN [GRANDPA] COLLAR SHORT SLEEVED SHIRTS
Lightweight, open-weave poly/cotton, these very smart shirts come in five colours:
Black / Mustard / White / Red / Navy
Made to our own design, these are plain, without a logo, and are ideal for travel [you can wear them more than once! ] ~ easy to maintain (no ironing necessary) and they look great with both shorts & pants.
Combined with Okanui Boardshorts, the white and navy mandarin-collared shirts in particular look both smart and that little bit different. Designed and made up exclusively for Blokes Up North, these shirts are now seen around the world as customers re-order for themselves, family, friends and workmates and staff.
The light breeze-through fabric is of the best Australian quality and makes them very pleasant to wear. Knowing that not all people come in small sizes, we have a decent size range from small up to 6X.
OKANUI BEACHWEAR
Australia’s iconic beachwear, both the boardshorts and shortsleeved shirts made by Okanui have been available from Blokes Up North for many years. The popular combination of Okanui Boardshorts and Blokes Up North Mandarin Collar shirts has become the unofficial style for great beachwear in Australia.
Okanui pure cotton clothing offers quality, style and a great size range, so bigger people who often miss out on the general offering in beachwear have taken to Okanui as their “own brand”. Okanui 2X in short sleeve shirts is the equivalent of a 5 - 6X in some brands. The variety of patterns and colours ensures you can wear the very best in beachwear that Australia has to offer! How to work out your size:
Because blokes are often not up to speed with the ins and outs of measuring clothing, we have come up with the following method to make ordering the right size easy [ we call it the “Blokes” method! ]
1: Grab your favourite shirt and lie it flat on the ground/floor/table
2: Measure across from armpit to armpit
3: Have a drink
